Our team is currently seeking partners for an innovative project focused on the production of bio-based silicon carbide (SiC) from engineered biochars derived from Si-rich biomass. We are particularly interested in collaborating with partners experienced in advanced material synthesis, high-temperature conversion processes, ceramic materials, and related characterization or scale-up activities.

DBFZ, the German Biomass Research Centre, is one of Europe’s leading research institutions dedicated to the sustainable energetic and material use of biomass. The institute conducts applied research along the entire biomass value chain, with strong expertise in thermochemical conversion processes, biochar production, circular bioeconomy, and sustainable material development.
